It gives you a chance to learn about the mission, history and goals of The Humane Society's Pets Fur People. You MUST attend Volunteer Orientation prior to volunteering. After completing an application and attending a Volunteer orientation you will be prepared for this worthwhile duty. You will receive handouts, and outlines for information to share about the Society. When a request is made, you will be called to serve.

Volunteers are needed to visit schools, businesses, and special events to educate the citizens of East Texas. Last year hundreds of pet friend raising opportunities allowed the shelter staff to educate on pet responsibility and ownership, spay and neutering your animal, and loving and caring for your pet. But we need an army to reach everyone.

Minimum Age Volunteer 18 years. Volunteers younger than 18 years old must be accompanied/supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Parent or guardian and child must attend volunteer orientation prior to volunteering.
